Comparison lab study of two UV Disinfection Wands

In 2010 Microbiology Research Labs in Acton Massachusetts tested Version 2 fo the Far-UV Sterilray™ Disinfection Wand (222nm) against one of the UVC wands (254nm) bought via airline magazines or big box stores.

Any  wands now being sold online or in stores using UVC 254nm bulbs reduce the concentration by want the lab labeled as “Scientifically insignificant”. In other words are useless. A waste of money. Only 222nm Far-UV Sterilray™ branded Far-UV Sterilray™ Disinfection Wands destroy pathogens in seconds.

Product Use

Disinfect High-Touch Surfaces that Patients or Health Care Workers Frequently Touch

The Far-UV Sterilray™ Disinfection Wand (SDW) will produce a high level of disinfection on all surfaces, with one or two passes over objects, exposed to the Far-UV Sterilray™ lamp.

The SDW is ideally suited for daily disinfection of high touch surfaces in patient rooms, but it can also provide disinfection of multiple occupied locations throughout the day.

Use the  SDW to disinfect high touch surfaces that patients or health care workers frequently touch.

Use to quickly disinfect 45 high touch areas in patient rooms in about 10 minutes.

The SDW is ideal for disinfecting areas that are seldom treated, like nurses’ stations, keyboards, mice, chairs, curtains, papers, notebooks, and electronics.

Technology

MOST UV PRODUCTS DEACTIVATE PATHOGENS…’Far-UV STERILRAY DESTROYS PATHOGENS.

Far-UV Sterilray™ Technology is up to 1,000 times more effective than germicidal UV-C. The SDW’s very high photon energy actually breaks and destroys the outer membrane and protein molecules of microorganisms, whereas UV-C only deactivates replication. The quicker action time of Far-UV Sterilray™ makes single-pass kill possible in HVAC and surface disinfection.

Far-UV Sterilray™ is an improved technology that is up to 1, 000 times more effective than germicidal UV-C.

The SDW produces a high level of disinfection by passing the wand 1-2″ above the surface at about 1-2 feet per second.
